日本におけるDigital Humanities 及びデジタルアーカイブの全体動向: 新データ紹介を中心に
2022年に引き続き、2023年現在におけるDigital Humanities（以下DH）及びデジタルアーカイブ（以下DA）について報告する。個別データから機械活用のためのデータセットへ、画像からテキスト利用へという大きなトレンドに変化はないものの、デジタル資源の公開の状況では、いくつかの新規公開と変更があった。それらの変更点について説明し、今後の日本における日本資源のデータ化の現状を俯瞰する。合わせて、2023年現在におけるデジタル化に関するいくつかの政策や研究動向について紹介し、今後増加が期待されるリソースの方向性について述べる。さらに、歴博のkhirinのシステムについても、説明を行い、khirin及び関連プロジェクトでデータ化された新たなリソースについても紹介を行う。歴博では、2023年度については特に日本の現代写真を対象として、データ化の検討を進めている。その進捗状況等についても報告する。
Overall Trends of Digital Humanities and Digital Archives in Japan: Focusing on New Data Introduction
Continuing from 2022, this report provides an update on the status of Digital Humanities (hereafter DH) and Digital Archives (hereafter DA) as of 2023. While there has been no significant shift from the major trend of transitioning from “only human readable data” to “machine-usable datasets”, and from images to text utilization, there have been some releases and modifications in digital resources. These changes will be elaborated, providing an overview of the current state of digitalization of Japanese resources in Japan. In addition, we will introduce some of the policies and research trends related to digitalization as of 2023, and discuss the direction of resources expected to increase in the future. Furthermore, we will provide explanations about the khirin system at the National Museum of Japanese History (Rekihaku), and introduce new resources digitized in khirin and related projects. At Rekihaku, the focus for the fiscal year 2023 is particularly on modern Japanese photography, and we are actively pursuing digitalization. Progress on these efforts will also be reported.
